1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up via Clerk authentication, we collect your email address and display name. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled entirely by Clerk.

Quilt Data: Patterns you upload, colorways you save, and fabric textures you add are stored on our servers so you can access them across devices.

Camera & Photos (Mobile App): The Swatchit mobile app requests camera access for the AR preview feature and photo library access to save your quilt images. Photos are processed on-device and are never uploaded without your action.

Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the app. No personally identifiable information is included.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Swatchit service
  • To save your quilt colorways and patterns to your account
  • To enable community sharing features (only when you opt in)
  • To improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns
  • To communicate important service updates

3. AI Features

Swatchit uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) for the AI Colorist and Lifestyle Preview features. When you use these features, your quilt pattern image is sent to the AI service for processing. No personal information is included in these requests. AI-generated results are not used to train models.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Clerk — authentication provider
  • Cloudflare R2 — image storage
  • Anthropic — AI features (pattern images only, no personal data)
  • Vercel — web hosting and analytics

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers (Railway, Cloudflare R2, Neon PostgreSQL). All connections use HTTPS encryption. We retain your data as long as your account is active.

6. Your Rights

  • Access: View all your saved colorways and patterns in the app
  • Delete: Delete your account and all associated data from the Profile section
  • Export: Download your colorways as PNG images
  • Sharing control: Toggle community sharing on or off per colorway

7. Children's Privacy

Swatchit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
